7 Things About Me

My mom tagged me last month and since the blog world has not seen my face (except to read other peoples blogs) since September, I was unaware until recently. So, to jump back in I thought I'd do something fun.

1. I procrastinate anything I possibly can. Even if it's something I care about. I'll put it off as long as I can. I hate that I do that and yet I can't stop.

2. For the sole reason of Frank Sinatra I firmly believe that I was born in the wrong decade.

3. While we're talking about music, I love it. Everything about it. Almost every genre. My brain is a jukebox.

4. I like hugs.

5. Apparently, I twitch in my sleep. I only know this because I frequently fall asleep while watching movies at friends' house and they like to make fun of me for it.

6. When in doubt, eat chocolate.

7. I like finding quotes and writing them down. One I found recently is,
"If ever there is no tomorrow when we're not together... there is something you must always remember: you are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think. But the most important thing is, even if we're apart... I'll always be with you."
~ Winnie the Pooh.

Homecoming Queen?

For those of you who don't know, I'm representing KPGR in the Homecoming Queen pageant. Anyone who knows me well knows that I firmly believe that "pageant" is one of the ugliest words in the English language. So I'm a little skeptical about the whole thing.

This is why I don't want to do the pageant:

This is why I'm doing it anyways:

Happy Birthday Harry Potter and J.K. Rowling!

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by J.K. Rowling (NO SPOILERS!... As long as you steer clear of the links.)
A beautiful ending to my childhood obsession. I tried to make it last as long as I could, especially with this last book. I have the movies to look forward to now. The only spoilers I will give is here and here (links to interviews with J. K. Rowling on the DH and life after the final battle).

Many of the characters surprised me with their strength and such. I loved seeing how it all wrapped up. I loved growing up with these kids. I feel like they are my best friends.

Hermione is, in the words of Ronald Weasley, "bloody brilliant". I secretly want to have her brains.

I want to be Luna Lovegood. She's so naive but she's not an idiot. (Is that possible?) She is someone I can see myself meeting and being good friends with.

On second thought, I'm Ginny. Ginny has got it all. She is so hard core. I wont say much more because last time I mentioned anything about the plot in a HP book on here I got more or less chewed out. (Sorry again about that.) I leave it with a woot woot for Ginny Weasley, and for those who have read DH, "There's the silver lining I've been looking for." (:

Woot woot!

I know she is pure evil but I have a special place in my heart for Bellatrix Lestrange. I love to hate her. She is probably my all time favorite villain and she's not even the biggest threat in this story. Actually, if I were an evil witch I would be her.

As for the male species in the final book:

Neville Longbottom proved himself a true Griffindor. That is all I will say because this is a spoiler free post.

Ron. Dear old Ron. He's not the biggest prat in the world after all. Yes, he is a little slow at times but he rocked my socks off. I rather fancy him.

Something must be said of Snape, though I don't know how to say anything without revealing the friend or foe secret. I can't. If you want to know what becomes of Snape you can ask me and I shall reveal my feelings on the greasy, hook-nosed man.

Lastly, Harry. He is brave. In the end he was very selfless and that impressed me. He's a fighter. I hate this no spoiler thing.

At the end of the day, I just wish I were magical. When I first started reading Harry Potter with Mom and Mel, I was so convinced that, come August, I would get a letter. Dumbledore would personally come to my home and convince my parents that J.K. Rowling is a witch whose stories for muggles are really biographies, and that Harry Potter is real and if I decide to go to Hogwarts (well, like, is it even a question?) I will meet him. But sadly, the owl sent to bring me my letter was caught in terrible weather and never made it.

It was a grand adventure and I'm glad I got to be a part of it. Thanks J.K., you're a gem.

Lack of sleep + ten hours to be wasted at the airport + two camera phones = the most mind-blowing fun you will ever experience.

SERIOIUSLY.

You may have read my Mom's blog, which would probably give you the understanding that I slept the whole time. This is not the case. I was much more productive with my time. I people watched, of course.

With the help of Mr. Black (my iPod)...

and Mrs. L. Bush (the L stands for Lilac... get it?)...

I stumbled upon a few diamonds in the rough.*

COBRA BUBBLES

Yes, that IS a man, and yes, that IS his hair. I think he may have seen me snap the picture, so if I disappear call Lilo. However, he doesn't strike me as one to browse blogger. I think I'm safe.

RUSSIAN SPY

I believe he was smuggling Book of Mormons out of the country.

grr... argh.

SERIAL KILLER

She may look small, innocent, and weak. And that may look like a rice cake she's eating, but that's just her cover.

CROCODILE HUNTRESS

Blimey.

LOST?

"Last call for passengers boarding Oceanic Flight 815." That's when he stood up and left...

blondd Moment

"Wow Elle, your cheeks are red, you look like you got some sun today, did you have fun at the pool?"

"Yeah! My face is burnt it sort of hurts to smile."

"That's no good, but hey, it looks like your hair got some sun too."

Gasp. "Oh, no! My hair is red?!"

P.S. Song of the day "Another Dumb Blonde" by Hoku

Only then, (if I camp out to see the Harry Potter movie) can evil be kept at bay...

I just finished Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince for the second time. Now I'm depressed because Snape killed Dumbledore all over again.

The Deathly Hallows comes out next month. July 21 to be exact. The Order of the Phoenix movie comes out July 13 (Friday, ooooh). Too bad they can't come out on the same day. I'm not sure HP fans would know where to go. Bookstore? Movie theatre? BIG dilemma. Either way the hardcore fans will be camping out somewhere. Oh, how I wish I was cool enough to do something like that.

I might be able to talk Mom into going with me. If I annoy her non-stop with a terrible british accent and keep talking about Voldemort, spells, and Snape. Maybe even shed a tear for Dumbledore's death and keep telling her "It is important to fight, and fight again, and keep fighting, for only then can evil be kept at bay, though never quite eradicated."

Alas, I daresay this may work. (:
